90 Liquorice Root Capsules
Liquorice is an herb that is native to the Mediterranean, southern and central Russia, and Asia Minor to Iran.
Many “liquorice” products manufactured actually don’t contain any liquorice. Instead, they contain anise oil, which has the characteristic smell and taste of “black liquorice.”
Licorice is taken by mouth alone or with other herbs for various digestive system complaints including stomach ulcers, heartburn, colic, and ongoing inflammation of the lining of the stomach (chronic gastritis).
More benefits of taking Liquorice root as supplement may include:
* Speed up the repair of stomach lining in cases of food poisoning, stomach ulcers and heartburn.
* Anti-inflammatory and immune-boosting properties due to glycyrrhizic ( glycyrrhizin) acid.
* Great for sore throat, coughs and colds
* Fights viral infections
* Aid in reducing weight
* Treats depression
* Cleanses the respiratory system
* Hair loss treatment and dandruff prevention
* Helps with Fibromyalgia and chronic fatique syndrome
Recommended dose: Start with a low dose ( 1 capsule daily ) and monitor your symptoms and how your body reacts to it. Dose can be increased on a weekly basis until desired dosage is achieved.
WARNING: * Heart disease: Liquorice can cause the body to store water, and this can make congestive heart failure worse. Liquorice can also increase the risk of irregular heartbeat. Don’t consume liquorice if you have heart disease. High blood pressure: Liquorice can raise blood pressure. Don’t consume large amounts of it if you have high blood pressure.
Pregnancy and breast-feeding: It is UNSAFE to take licorice by mouth if you are pregnant. High consumption of licorice during pregnancy, about 250 grams of licorice per week, seems to increase the risk of early delivery. It might cause a miscarriage or early delivery. There is not enough reliable information about the safety of taking licorice if you breast feeding. Stay on the safe side and avoid use.
Note: We use “00” size vegetable capsules. Powder weight may vary depending on fineness of powder and rate of compaction. Usually between 350mg and 650mg per capsule. All our capsules have been hand packed and quality control carried out.
